At this point I can read the book on screen on my iMac but when I sideload it on to my Nook, the Nook does not allow me to read it - 'User not activated'. I have then used an independent, free, eBook program called, 'Calibre', to load the first, downloaded EPUB file into Calibre's own 'library'.
Reset the ADE folder on your NOOK. Connect your NOOK to your computer. Open your NOOK from Finder. Move the contents of the "Digital Editions" folder to the trash. Open ADE, then try transferring the ebook again. You may need to disconnect and reconnect your NOOK for it to appear in ADE. After the transfer, disconnect your NOOK.

Nook Support is way beyond the conventional and would help users to the very extent that their device would not work. Unlike Kindle where they try to sell more devices over customer service, Nook’s customer service has a greater inclination towards getting the device working.
